Day 1: Modern Standards, Trends, and Performance Optimization

The course opens with an overview of modern layer production standards, focusing on key performance indicators for pullets and layers. Participants will explore:

  • Current market trends and evolving consumer expectations for egg quality

  • Production systems and management practices suitable for tropical environments

  • How to set realistic performance targets and implement strategies to achieve them

Day 2: Nutrition, Genetic Potential, and Health Management
  • Fundamentals of layer nutrition, including key raw materials, feed formulation principles, and feed manufacturing considerations across growth and production stages

  • Understanding how nutrition supports genetic potential and long-term productivity

  • Disease prevention and health management, with emphasis on production-limiting diseases such as Marek’s, Newcastle disease, and Infectious Bursal Disease (IBD)

  • Practical biosecurity and flock husbandry strategies to protect flock health and profitability

Day 3: Biosecurity, Production, and Egg Processing

  • Biosecurity and food safety measures critical to egg processing operations

Day 4: Advanced Nutrition, Feed Formulation, and Strategic Health Management
  • Practical feed formulation strategies for different developmental and production stages

  • Use of enzymes and alternatives to antibiotics to support gut health and performance

  • Designing robust health management programs for both routine and unexpected challenges

  • Integrating nutrition and health strategies to optimize flock health and maximize production efficiency
